Mahila Wing – Bharatiya Janata Majdoor Cell (BJMC)

Empowering Women Workers for a Self-Reliant Bharat

The Mahila Wing of the Bharatiya Janata Majdoor Cell (BJMC) is the women’s organization of the BJMC, committed to the empowerment, welfare, and advancement of women workers across India. Functioning under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Arnab Chatterjee, National President, and Dr. Biswapriya Roy Choudhury, National Chairman, the Mahila Wing upholds the principles of ‘Integral Humanism’ and ‘Antyodaya’ — ensuring that the benefits of progress reach the last and most marginalized woman worker of the nation.

The Mahila Wing stands as a symbol of strength, discipline, and service — representing millions of women workers from the organized, unorganized, industrial, agricultural, transport, and service sectors. It seeks to uphold the dignity of women laborers, protect their rights, and help them achieve self-reliance through education, awareness, and opportunity.

Ideological Foundation

The foundation of the Mahila Wing rests on the ideological guidance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharatiya Janata Majdoor Cell — rooted deeply in the concept of Integral Humanism propounded by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Ji. It envisions a society where every woman worker contributes with equal dignity to the economic, social, and cultural development of the nation.

Inspired by the principle of ‘Seva, Sangathan aur Samarpan’ (Service, Organization, and Dedication), the Mahila Wing works tirelessly to uplift the social and economic conditions of women laborers, ensuring their voices are heard in every sphere of decision-making — from local industry committees to national forums.

Vision and Mission

The vision of the Mahila Wing is to create a self-reliant, secure, and prosperous Bharat, where women workers stand shoulder to shoulder with men, participating equally in the nation-building process.

Its mission is to:

  • Protect the rights, dignity, and safety of women workers in all workplaces.
  • Promote gender equality and women’s participation in trade union leadership and policymaking.
  • Strengthen the socio-economic conditions of women through training, education, and entrepreneurship.
  • Foster nationalism, discipline, and unity among women workers across regions, castes, and communities.
  • Advocate for policy reforms that benefit women laborers, especially in unorganized sectors such as domestic work, textiles, agriculture, and small-scale industries.
Objectives of the Mahila Wing
  • Empowerment through Education: Conduct awareness programs on women’s rights, health, hygiene, and legal protections available under labor laws.
  • Skill Development and Employment: Promote self-employment, vocational training, and digital literacy among women workers to ensure economic independence.

Organizational Structure and Coordination

Every state unit has a State Mahila Wing President, supported by district and block-level leaders, ensuring representation of women workers from every part of India.

The Wing works closely with BJMC’s affiliated trade federations, including:

  • All India FCI Workers Federation
  • All India Food and Drinks Workers Federation
  • All India Transport Workers Federation
  • All India Port Trust Workers Federation
Contribution to Nation Building

The Mahila Wing of BJMC believes that the strength of Bharat lies in its women workforce. By promoting education, self-reliance, and dignity of labor, it contributes to the larger goal of building an Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). It plays a significant role in spreading awareness about government schemes related to women and labor welfare, bridging the gap between policies and grassroots implementation.

Every member of the Mahila Wing stands committed to ‘Rashtra Nirman ke liye Nari Shakti’ — the power of women for national development.

Motto and Pledge

“Shram Se Samman, Nari Se Shakti” (Dignity through Labor, Power through Womanhood)

The Mahila Wing pledges to continue its tireless efforts in the service of the nation, ensuring that every woman worker — from rural fields to urban factories — receives justice, respect, and equal opportunity in the spirit of nationalism and service.
